My joints are dissolving.
I have Two artificial knees: two artificial hips: one artificial shoulder with the other scheduled for January.
Glad I live in an age where this can be done.

Yeah, Barbara and I begin our eightieth year on the planet in two months, I'm approaching the old "If it doesn't hurt, it doesn't work" stage, but, stubborn Hungarian that I am, I'll prolly go down swinging. Ha Ha!

Worked on the old Swan last week and noticed a decrease in the old dexterity department. Ibuprofen sandwiches seems to help out with that a bit. It came out great BTW :). Catch the ZOOM meeting at 4 and I'll show it to ya ;D

Gotta go!  :)

Oh NO! I didn't realize, am so sorry you've been through ALL of that. I do have intense pain in some of those same areas,
but am far too leery of surgery to go for 'replacement parts', lol. I realize it can be done, but with the fairly 'simple' rotator cuff surgery I've already been through - I just can't imagine what a replacement would be like, especially with the animals I have to handle here  (just heard Fred yelling at Luka for 'stealing' a can of cat food off the counter and devouring the entire thing! Now, the routine is: we make sure Luka's in his crate AS we get the cat food ready - and then let him and Koda out to eat their food. I've no idea why he didn't do that first this Evening, so again, it's my fault and now he's furious at the dog again - for doing what dogs do (when they've been abandoned and remember what it's like to starve). Sigh. Have to go.

Gotta give you credit, though.  You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din!

Hugs and many good wishes for an excellent outcome in January, Don. SO hope it works out well. :)

I hereby claim this as the medical page.
Had shoulder surgery on the left yesterday. Still waiting for the block to wear off.
Lotta shredded stuff. We hope for the best.
I'm thinking chromatic in a rack, using my right for the button.  We'll see . . .

Looks like Age needs to set up yet another Main Thread ... Medical and Health Stories ;)

Heal quickly, Gnarly!  And ... well, heck ... we're OLD!  This is what happens!  I try very hard not to be the stereotypical "let me show you my scar" guy.

Be well, everyone.  Or ... as well as a bunch of old sliders can be!!

ADMISSION:  I love my CX-12s.
I stow my Easttop valveless Forerunner everywhere.
And I’m learning to play the Seydel valveless Nonslider.
I’m not a tech guy.  I jus wanna play!

Ouch! Had no idea, Gary. So sorry you're going through this. Hope the block sticks around a while. THEN you'll need the ice. I still have mine - the wrap-around thingie they gave me at the hospital (paid for by ins.) I've forgotten the name of it at the moment, lol. You fill this cooler looking device with water and ice IF you can lift it with your right hand (higher than your heart), connect a couple of tubes, wrap around where it hurts, plug in, sit down and zone out. Lasts a good long while and cuts down on the hurting level. Good part is you're so numb from the cold you don't worry about hot weather, so there's that up side. :) i'd find one of my kitties snuggled up between my neck and the wrap. It saved my sanity.

Sure hope your recovery is a lot faster than mine, Gary. You and Candy have been through a LOT so it's perfectly fine to talk about it here - Where else? we're all old friends who know how important playing guitar and working on/playing harmonicas means to you: many of us have walked in your shoes and I commiserate, for one. It's tougher for you when earning your living requires dexterity so do yourself a favour and sign up for any and all therapy available asap. I waited quite a bit longer than I should've and paid dearly for that (after the first therapist left me in agony). My second one was fantastic, so finding someone good - she came to the house even in the worst weather - is key.

Hugs, Scotty

I am taking the oxycodone religiously, so now I can’t poop.
No ice yet, this morning I am seeing a NP from a new provider, trying to change Primary Care physicians.
I’m doing remarkably well, no need for prayers—they don’t hurt, but I’m not counting on them.
OK, pray for poop🤭

You ARE the Gnarly He Man!
I’ll NEVER forget happening on you and David Naitch jamming in the hallway at SPAH about ten years ago at SPAH.  It was a great treat!!!

I hit it off with the NP, so she will be my new “doctor”.
And the prunes I had last night and this morning are answering my prayers.
TMI, I bet.
