Searching for titles with one letter words don't seem to work.
« on: February 21, 2022, 07:37:22 AM »
Hi everybody!

The other day I searched for "It was a very good year" but got the answer that words must be more than one letter.
Is there any way of getting around this?

I was looking for the tabs to enjoy the song with my Chrom.

All the best to you all

Hello, Macdjerf.

Try this FREE harmonica tab site:

https://www.harptabs.com/song.php?ID=5740

Tabs and lyrics only (no traditional music
notation), key of F, (assuming a key of C
harp) for chromatic, 3 pages. The tune
may be downloaded and printed, free.

The tune is on 3 pages, and in it's page setup,
it will be a page turner. If you "cut and paste"
the printed sheets of tabs and lyrics, it could
be reduced to two pages, or even one page.

The tabs may be used on any factory keyed solo
system slide chromatic harp for solo playing; but
depending on the harp's factory key selection, the
tabs may or may not sound in the key of F, when
played in a musical group.

Best Regards, Stay Healthy

After a search of Wikipedia, it was determined that bipolar bears exist. The Bipolar Bears is a musical group.

Hello John!

A thousand thanks for your reply. I have found it and have it printed. :)
There must be something with the search engine that does not allow one letter words like "I, a" and so on.

I like these old songs very much and play just to get the feeling of what they "talk" about, it's marvelous.
They surely knew how to touch the heart of folks.

Once again many many thanks for your kindness!
Now it's time to start the breathing exercises again!  :D

Hello again, Macdjerf.

Yes, the older I get, the more I like
musical ballads.

It was a very good year.

Best Regards, Stay Healthy

Just consider how many words have letters in them, then you will understand that it is an impossible task, as every word, sentence, or paragraph would match - how many millions of hits do you want to sort through for what you were looking for.....  ;D ;D ;D

Usually you'll need a few words to get near what you are looking for. :)

(And, as John has shown, searching on a music oriented website can be beneficial too.)

Hi Keith!

Looking at our regular annual history meter there could be no more than 2022 very good years.  ;D

Enclose the title in double quotes, i.e. make sure the quotes are part of the search term.
"It was a very good year"
      will work,
It was a very good year
      will not.

Looks like the search rules for the software used by SlideMeister (Simple Machines) are explained here:

https://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Search#Modifiers

...the quotes make your example a "phrase search".
Hope this helps!

Hi Loganmill!

Many thanks for the advice, it looks like it works, although I still can't find the song.
But now I know how to do it next time, very smart!  :D
