The Funkle Brothers (Simon and Gar) might disagree. It's actually in Eb major mixolydian (I think), with a brief sojourn unto Gb. Could actually be C minor. Vaughan Williams' chords are all over the place, but the solo line outlines  an Eb chord in its first three notes, and the piece ends on an Eb chord. No Dbs in the solo line, very few D naturals in the organ part.

Yep, Looks like E flat from over here in Ohio. (Maybe a little sideways, but E flat nonetheless) :P

"No Dbs in the solo line, very few D naturals in the organ part."

Should have read, "No D naturals in the solo line," or "All Dbs in the solo line." So, mostly mixolydian. Hard to tell if Vaughan Williams was even aware of this.

It’s great to finally hear a sample of your playing!  It took me a moment to remember but I actually sang this one during my first semester as a vocal major in college!  I’m pretty sure I sang through 4 of the songs in this set throughout my time in school.  I love Ralph Vaughan Williams’ work.

Thanks, beaukim. Certainly points out room for improvement. I plan on redoing it.

I sang tenor in the chorus in a concert last Saturday of the Five Mystical Songs, and the Fauré Requiem. We were boosted, and masked, except for the soloists, and the audience was boosted or tested and masked. Despite that, the concert was sold out. It will be streamed on Sunday at 7 pm edt. go to www.illuminatiensemble.com for details about purchasing a virtual ticket.

Hi Tom,
I loved the harmonica part of the playing. Please upload your playing often.

Okay, Gene. Here's a song I wrote to Brian Wren's poem, We Are Not Our Own, with a harmonica obbligato.
