Windsaver - cutting to size

I have Hohner windsaver pack. The 14 no (used for 6th hole) is exhausted. Very few left in 13 and 15 nos. I have plenty left for lower octaves. I checked with Hohner, they sell only the complete pack and not individual sizes.

Question - can I cut to size the longer ones from lower octave. 20 - 22 would never be used as I play 12 hole harmonicas as on date. Has anyone already tried this and did this work well? Any special care while cutting these to suit the needed size? If it does work, I can avoid placing order for the full pack with Hohner...

Cut carefully to match the usual length (both layers) and there should be no problem.

Let me try then.. I may need to waste couple of windsavers while I try out cutting to exact size... wouldn't mind if I can manage with this

Yes, I've done that.
No problem.
Even trimmed the top layer a bit shorter to create a valve as close as possible to the "real" one.

I cut all mine just short enough to see a few thousandths of an inch of air space at the business end of the reed slot. Werx 4 me!

That’s the way to do it!  You can always cut it shorter, so take your time.
