Heartbreak!
« on: June 04, 2023, 11:20:14 PM »
My first guitar was an Arcadia Arch-top piece-o-junque, which I think I just threw away after my first electric guitar, which was a Gibson Les Paul Jr.  My Brother-in-Law gave it to me (along with a little tweed Gibson amp) right after he lost two fingers running a punch-press at Addressograph Multigraff here in Cleveland. I think I was 16 or 17'ish. I just checked and saw what the thing is worth today. Aaaaaaggghhh! Here's what I sold for fifty bucks, case and all: https://reverb.com/item/69658507-gibson-les-paul-junior-1956

I wasn't done yet. My next was a used but pristine, 1962 Fender Jaguar, https://reverb.com/p/fender-jaguar-1962?hfid=66888937&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=17684163528&utm_content=campaignid=17684163528_adgroupid=137826489279_productpartitionid=1684856543730=merchantid=724139312_productid=66888937_keyword=_device=c_adposition=_matchtype=_creative=609047477275&gclid=Cj0KCQjw7PCjBhDwARIsANo7Cgk1bDdmhvpra0khxa18czL6UiCvtY7xD7ZEIGlp7Lg6E8XpxoxXv7EaAlOxEALw_wcB and I sold that in 1972 for 200 bucks. Between the two of them today, I could prolly pay off my house! :’(

Always amazes me how much some people are willing to pay for other peoples junk - if only we knew who, we could have sold it to them ourselves! :D

Yeah, I also sold my 1965 Mustang 2+2 Fastback for like an idiot. :P  Who knew that thing would worth over worth over $50K today?

Prolly oughtta change this into "Really Stoopid stuff I did in the past"

I also traded an 1892 Malin carbine (I forgot where I got it) for a Mossberg .22, then traded that for a Whizzer motorbike. Also traded a Walther model PP that I found behind a brick wall (obviously thrown there by some bad guy) for who knows what. Any of this stuf, if I had it today, would be worth enough to end all my financial bloooze.
