Other than the heat index being 105 degrees it was a hoot. I had an ice cream vendor park next to me, shot my diet right in the buttl. This is a Blues Fest and not a harmonica event but there are a lot of harmonica players in attendance as well as in the acts. Two stages alternating acts every hour until about 11 PM.. Jason Ricci started things off on the main stage Friday at 1 PM. We could hear the music from the Hippie Hill Stage then an hour later Phil Wiggins followed Jason on the main stage. After hours there are jams all over the campgrounds. Different acts but music all day on Saturday.
I just happened to get a shipment of the new Easttop NV chromatics in a few days before the fest and about 20 diatonic players are now potential SlideMeister members. Charlie Barath, Chris Sutton, Jim Rumbaugh and Bruce hung around my store, sat in the shade and jammed. Others occasionally came by and joined in. On Saturday Bruce gave free harmonica lessons and we played a couple numbers .
Stopped and visited with Wally and Val on the way home and picked up a suitcase full of 1/2 valved diatonics he had inspected for me.
All and all we had a great time.
