"Slide harmonicas have some unique ones, but not playing "blind."

Gunna hafta agree to disagree on that one Tom.
(unless the player has fully functional "eye teeth.")
Not to be misunderstood: Yes, slide harmonica players do play blind, but that's not unique to the harmonica. Other things are, but not that. Worst, IMO, is contending with more than one embouchure hole, followed by breath exchange.

ActuallyI suppose any instrument can be played "blind" when the player is good enough to where he/she can close the eyes and just groove. But the harmonica is one that doesn't even give the "learner" a "corner of the eye glimpse" of it. :o  I'm no flute player, but I've notice that I can see a lot more of my flute that I ever saw of my harmonicas. I actually have a student flute hanging on my office wall as a decoration. It's all I can do to get a sound out of the silly thing, and I'm totally confused about the buttons. :-[
I remember taking it to church once and handing it tthe flute player on our worship team, and was flabbergasted to actually hear real music come out of the thing. ;D

Hi John,
Warmest greetings to you! I feel grateful for your feedback and teaching on MODULATION. I tried different keys for variation to the song because a typical old hymn consists of 4 or 5 verses, repeating the same tune. I will keep in mind what you have recommended to me when I practise next time.

It would be hard to conduct the experiment cuz even with earplugs there would be some "inner hearing" on a hearing person ... which I still am!

Visit your local blues jam and stand onstage between the drummer and the lead guitarist.
Problem solved!
