Easy song in A
« on: July 27, 2021, 04:08:20 PM »
This is an old hymn that's is public domain. Gene Oh had posted somewhere about the key of A. I initially had trouble with it also and still struggle with some tunes in A. Anyway, I was playing this last night from an old hymnal. It was written in A and almost fell out of the C chromatic all by itself. It uses both C#s so it might be an easy way to get familiar with A.

I Surrender All for chromatic harmonica.
Key of A on C harmonica.

You say that you found this tune in an old hynmal.  Was it written in Tab?  It would have been better if you had given the notation.  Unless you know the tune it is impossible (I think) to play anything from tab (and if you already know the tune what is the point?)

Found it in an old hymnal dated 1976. No tab. I don't use tab. Just wanted to post an example of a tune I found easy to play in A. Since then I have gotten better in A and D. It really helped me to find some easy songs to practice in those keys. Gotta walk before you run! This tune was a walk in the park. I have known this tune for many years.
