Hi Elizabeth , so pleased you appreciate the remarkable talents of Lisa Hannigan, her own compositions take a few listens, but when she covers a well known song something strange happens , it becomes the version that sticks in my head even though done simply , excuse repeating but i don't know how she does it, can only think it is the tender character of the performances and sincerity....pity such an unassuming talent slips under the radar...she also plays many instruments ( even trumpet as heard in my last clip
),a friend asked her to write a song for her mum who was dying of cancer, when reading this i thought oh, oh, how on earth do you approach that...the result surprised me ' A prayer for the dying'....i wont put it up, but it is quite beautiful, again simple and with few words.
