I'm not sure of the desription of tunes that are asked for here. But here is an old one that has been recorded by many other singers over the decades. Prisoner's Song by Vernon Dalhart It is also known by the title "I Wish I Had Someone to Love Me".

Prisoners Song.... I never knew the title of this old tune Mom played on the pump organ and sometimes on her accordion. It brought back fond memories from long long ago.

) a lot when we were kids, (I know I did) but never did know the real words to it.

. Usually started out with "If I had the wings of an eagle," and after that, we just got creative.

Prisoner's Song -- I do not remember where or when I first heard it, but about ten years ago I spent a long time looking for all the versions available in Youtube.com. There was a plethora, a bunch, a large number anyhow, of recordings of this song. SEarch for two names: "Prisoner's Song" and "I Wish I Had Someone to Love me".

Wikepedia.org has a lot of information about Vernon Dalhart. The Wikipedia article says that Vernon Dalhart's Prisoner's Song impressed the recording companies enough that they scoured the "south", looking for other fine, unknown music. That's how the Carter Family came to light.

Part of my list of responses when someone said I'm really strange for not knowing the name Celine Dione. The other person never heard of Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Gardel, Vernon Dalhart or Erik Satie, so I guess we're even.

Does anybody know a verse for any song that includes the name of the sports writer, Grantland Rice. Back in the 1950s my father sang a verse that included "Grandland Rice". I think it was a verse of "In the Jailhouse Now". Do you boys and girls have any idea?

yeah, but while I could only get through 40+ seconds of this, I remember that a lot of the BeeGees music also came from the
1970's as well as some fantastic R&B music which I still play today. There was a LOT to choose from - and a lot to ignore.

She is absolutely fantastic, Keith! A multi-instrumentalist, and in 2019 she was only 13 years old! What a talented young
lady! LOVED this, as well as her version of Orange Blossom Special. I've spent quite a while now watching more of her

In case your screen is small and you couldn't see - her 'friends' are all actually her, Ed (the kind of stuff our own Beau Kim
does with video 'magic'). She's a multi-instrumentalist.
It must make it tough when one is playing Live onstage though, lol. And she was doing this kind of stuff at 13-15!
The girl is good. I wonder if she'd be interested in chromatic harmonica? At the very least she'd be a heck of an
accompanist!
