Someone said " you play harmonica?" I played, he said "when you decide to throw that toy away and get a real harmonica, come see me

As a former popsinger/saxophonist I decided I wanted to play an instrument that didn't require hands and one that presented all the options to me that a piano would. Ultimately I want to sing with my harmonica and have the same feeling of expressiveness and lyricism that one has with the voice or a beautifully smooth tenor saxophone. (That's why I play a 16-hole)

I choose the chromatic b/c-

Portability
Affordability
Beautiful quality of sound
It brings me joy to make music
It requires nothing but wind.

With Diat. in  pocket, I saw a Chromatic in a music store window; it had a button and a lotta of holes. I was toast!. Never looked back.

Because I do not read nor understand music and figured it was my only option.  And I really like the sound.  Look, twenty-five words!

I was enjoying Quincy Jones' albums and was stumbled excitedly by Toots there.

I used diatonics with guitar and found them less than chromatic. Big surprise--
I like the sound and don't mind the maintainence.

I bought a Chromatic in order to get the notes that were missing on my diatonic harp.

10/14/11

Chose the Chromatic because:

1...Portable
2...Affordable
3...Warm Tone
4...Expressive
4...Four Octaves
5...with all the notes

I had played a tremolo and diatonic but was not too thrilled.
One evening I was listening to the radio and the program got cut off. The "please excuse this interruption" music
was Bach played on a chromatic. It may have been John Sebastian, I'm not sure, but that convinced me.
I'm learning Bach and Handel flute (recorder) pieces now, they sound great on the chromatic.

My reason, I wanted to learn a musical instrument in my retirement and portability must be what made me decide.

I wanted the one with a button, I didn't know much about then but confident I decided right. Also they are thought of as being smarter in my ally. That's the model Larry plays and everyone knows Larry.

Hello, Chromaticas.

I chose the slide chromatic harp because I wanted to play older music: jazz, classical, etc., not easily playable on the 10-hole Richter harp.

Best regards

i would put all the praise to LARRY ADLER, TOMMY REILLY, HARMONICAT.. their excessively beautiful tone color and articulation have touched only my heart, but my soul and attracted me to pick up this little instrument.
