« on: July 23, 2016, 11:12:22 AM »
Not sure how well this will work, BUT I'm going to back up the image of windows 7 (which works fine BTW) and get the free upgrade of 10, install it, then do the same with that and switch back 7 and continue to use it as long as I can (actually I wish I could still get away with XP ::))

Big mistake! We all get sucked in to wanting to try the new OS. Every time I've given in I was sorry.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!

Are you sure you will be able to activate your license when you install again W10 some time later?

No I want to activate it as soon as I install it, then back it up, then put Win 7 bak. When the time comes when I really HAVE TO use it, I'll just restore it from my backed up version.

Windows 10 will let you revert back to Windows 7 easily during the first 30 days.   After that you'll need a backup.

Yeah, I just don't want to miss out on the free version of 7. When the time ever comes when I'm forced to run 7, I just don't wanna hafta pay for it; especially since I have two machines.

The old MAC-mini is already maxed out with snow leopard, but that's okay cuz I only use it for GarageBang (although I wish I could run the latest version :'()

I am using win10 now on three pc's during more than an half year and no problems.

One was upgraded from 7 to 10, one from 8 to 10 and one from 8.1 to 10.

But for my music i use an old one with xp on it.

I tried (three times) to upgrade my desktop and it started by saying: "everything is cool" then after about an hour of "upgrading" I got a message that sed "something went wrong" and that I couldn't install Windows 10 on that machine.  :P  After three tries, I think I'm just gunna say: "Fahghettaboditt!"

So, now I'm gunna see if I can install it on this notebook.
