I have plastic dip for tool handles. I would try that on the button if I needed the extra size or texture.

Okay,
Just had a quick chat with Mr Cook.
He's open to sending some over here to the States, but doesn't know if the shipping would be a "dealbreaker."

I already know ~I'd~ like to try one. It also figures that the more we get, the cheaper the shipping would be. If the shipping ain't too dear, anyone else out there besides me interested in these little guys?

Yeah, that's one of the "phew" things I like about the CX; that textured button. :)

Not necessary. Cut a disk of sandpaper (about 130 grit), glue onto button.

Actually, for me, they don't really hafta be all that grippy; I personally like a big one like the one on an Amadeus, but I could never afford to even look at one of those puppies

All of the listed suggestions are
probably effective.

As a drummer, I've never had
problems with slippery fingers.

I won't need the slider button caps,
but suspect that a reasonable facsimile
might be found at a local hardware
store.

Such as small-sized "rubber-baby-
buggy-bumpers" (tube caps).

My experience has been ( after watching players from: Steel Valley-Youngstown, Garden state, Cardinal state, spah, Birmingham, Lee county, Fy. Myers, W. Pa. consefvatory, and other groups of players), people who tend to depress the button with their finger tips OR first joint, have had slippage.

Whereas players whom 'trap' the button in the crease where their finger meets their palm, slippage drops off.
I have even actuated the button with my wrist and even forearm and had no problem. It can be seen in my videos.

I still may try one of those John Cook jobbies. Just hafta figure out how to get
one without paying an arm and leg to get one across the pond.

Spread some E6000 glue on the button. E6000 always has a little bit of texture after it dries.
