It might AsWell Rain Untill September - Carrol King

(1/1)

Ray J:
Has anyone got the Music or Tabs for the opening line of the above Carrol King song.

"What Should I Write, What Can I Say, How can I Tell You How Much I miss You"

I've got the rest of the music, just need the opening.

Gnarly He Man:
I found it on YouTube and promptly gave it a listen . . .

Bear in mind that I found this recording to be sharp by about 70 cents and adjusted it to be in tune.

--- Quote --- - Written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King.
 - This 1962 hit was actually the demo recording by Carole King,
intended as a song for Bobby Vee.
 - The recording was so casual that to this day the master of
it does not exist, and any CD versions of it have poor quality.
 - Carole King then went close to 9 years before her next hit,
although all those residuals from all those great early
60s songs she wrote kept her out of the poor house.

--- End quote ---
Chords are | Am | Am/G# | C6/G D9 | Dm G |
The melody goes, C C G E, C C G E, C E G B A -- at that point on the word "how" she drops an octave to the A below, so you need a instrument that goes into the tenor range (like mine!) --A E C E D.
You are probably familiar with the Helen Shapiro version--I was not, but found it just now as I continued my search (geez, I got too much free time on my hands) :P
Helen seems to be a superior singer to Carole, and has some rather famous friends
Gary

Ray J:
Thanks Garry that'll do fine.

I play 16 holers so have the A below.

It took me ages to find the intro to Stardust. Then ages to learn it ::)

Helen Shapiro had great success as a child prodigy with an individual sounding voice. Topped the Bill at the London Palladium a few times. I believe she could have been a great singer. But somehow was mismanaged. She sang blues for a long time with Humphrey Littleton.

Don't know what she's doing now. Does it say on You Tube?

I didn't know Hellen did a version. I'll look it up, thanks.
