allow me to introduce myself...again
(1/1)
Roger:
Dear SlideMeisters,
Allow me to REINTRODUCE myself to SlideMeister. Although I read a post a while ago that referred to my radio show so I know that there are some of you who do listen to the show. My name is Roger Gonzales aka Gonzo...thanks to Bill Price for the nickname. I have been playing harmonica for about 16 years. I am a student of harmonica master Eddie Gordon for the same amount of time. Since Eddie is in Minnesota and I am in California, we now do lessons long distance. I live in Fresno, CA and am a music teacher for the Fresno school district. I went back to school in my 40's when I decided to switch careers. I am now in the pursuit of my masters degree in Music Education. Had it not been for the love of the harmonica and the passionate desire to play music, I would not have met Eddie or decided to go back to school. Playing he harmonica has totally changed my life and I could not be happier that it did. I am now 53 and playing as much as I can for someone who teaches at 3 elementary schools and is getting a masters. Whew!! its alot.
I do have a radio show that you can tune into online at www.kfsr.org The show is on Friday's from 4-6pm PDT. The radio station network will take you where you need to go to tune in to the show. It is called Jazz, Blues and More. I play a large selection of great chromatic harmonica players such as jazz players such as Mike Turk, Guiseppe Milici, Jens Bunge, William Galison, Randy Singer and Antonio Serrano. Many of the great Blues players such as Paul DeLay, Charie Musslewhite, Little Walter and the rest are also played...see Age I didn't mention that OTHER harp.
I look forward to getting back into the SlideMeister mix and enjoying some conversations about chromatic playing.
regards,
Roger Gonzales aka Gonzo
