Hohner Super 64 X
Harmman:
Just bought a new Super 64 X and think it's really great. Black covers and gold mouthpiece. Heavy!
The Super 64 X is kind of like having a grand piano instead of a spinet. Anyone else have one? Would like to know what you think about it.

Boz:
In my opinion, I think you'll enjoy having the Super 64X, it's worth every penny you spent on it.

They're great - until the wheels fall off...... I've got two - one customized and the other out of the box..... That one tends to leak... The other customized one is ok, but it's starting to go out of tune.... I'm eventually going to send it back to Hohner and have them overhaul it -OR send it to Bill Romel - he does good work.

I'm told this eventually happens with all harmonicas. What's made your 64x go out of tune? How does it compare to other harmonicas?
After some months my 64 copes with detuned reeds in its lowest register; much more so than my other harmonicas do.
@Boz: if the super 64x's are at least as good as the super 64's - which I have every reason to believe - you're bound to be a happy camper. Besides good lookers, they're a marvelous play.
romie:
Playing it hard and a lot... I would not only perform with the 64X, I'd practice about 2 hours a day with it. The reeds move with every blow or draw - do it enough and boom, they go south....
I like the 64x for it's looks and the tone is good, but the one's I had leaked more than the Miesterklasse - which, once you get it customized, runs pretty good.
If you want a pretty and unusual harmonica, have Bill Romel put wood on the comb and make up wooden cover plates for the axe...
