Our instrumental version of "All Of Me"
« on: October 21, 2024, 08:30:29 PM »
Back to basics on this one, recorded a few weeks back, live in our project studio, with looping guitar and programmed drums. I'm playing a Discovery on this one, I think it sounds okay for a student model :-).

Slim, you and Penny are great!!!
All of Me is one of my favorites to play on harmonica.  It's so versatile, and can be played with many variations.  I'd like to think that the writer, Gerald Marks, is one of my close family ... since I'm a Marks, too.  Sad to say ... probably not!
Keep up the good work.  You have my toes tapping for the day!

Great work as always, but . . .
What happened to the vamp before the guitar solo?

Great! And a super bass solo too - with bow! You don't see that every day!

2 Loops, 1 for the vamp, 1 for the tune. The vamp allows time for me to switch from guitar to harmonica -- I don't need it so much in the other direction. And the looper's sync'd with the drum box -- magic! (almost).

What looper? Are the drums synced or part of the looper?
Thanks in advance.

BeatBuddy drum pedal (fully programmable, with my own custom drum library) sends MIDI clocks and time signature data to the Aeros Loop Station (which allows up to six tracks across six parts (loops)). Both pedals are extremely configurable for sync operations. The looper also responds to external MIDI commands to control just about every aspect of its configuration, very handy stuff.

The Aeros Loop Station looks great! I will keep it in mind for the future.
Lots of used units on Reverb, wonder if it does windowing.

Please explain "windowing" and I'll probably be able to answer your question.

Basic concept is to modify an existing loop by selecting a new start and end point.

Please explain "windowing" and I'll probably be able to answer your question.

I don't remember seeing that feature mentioned, so maybe not.

The manual's here: file:///Users/slim/Downloads/Aeros%20Loop%20Studio%20Manual%20(Firmware%205.2.1).pdf

I'm curious, what's the use case for that feature, is it something you would do while playing back or recording, or just to edit something that you've recorded while not performing?

One very cool use is to snip the last four, for the outro.
There’s more, for live looping.
The Echoplex Digital Pro is the only one of my loopers with this feature.

Found the manual on the Web.
Keep up the good work!

Duh, I thought that's what I'd posted above, forgot to actually look at the link. Glad you found it. :-)

Looking thru the manual, great MIDI implementation but I don't see that function.
What I do notice is that you can save loops on the SD card (sold separately) and load them with a capable MIDI controller (like the Morningstar MC6Pro, my new favorite MIDI pedal).
I might want to see if I can sell my Headrush Looperboard and snag one of these!
Thanks again for your info, and of course, for posting your videos.

I’m not sure if it has loop decay, the initial release was supposed to have it but it was buggy, not sure if the latest version of the software has put it back in.
Again, not necessarily something you use, but definitely a nice feature for a looper.
The Headrush has a limited version of decay, but the fade out works a treat.

'Cause you haven't needed to  ;D
As a singing guitarist, I am always looking for a way to expand my sound.
I first encountered looping in the early 80's, and find it fascinating!
