How do I find people to jam with in my area?
« Reply #31 on: June 08, 2008, 03:55:52 PM »
Hi Age, been gone awhile but I've popped up again here in Montreal. My question is, where on Slidmeister can I look for/post a request for people to play with in my area?
Thanks much,
James Archer

I got a note yesterday from Giovanni Violini saying that his friends were not able to download and watch his SlideMeister videos.
I went to the Gallery and I wasn't able to download any of the files I tried either.
I've reported this to MasterMeisters and I've been assured that they are working on it.
Gabe asked, so I cleaned out all my cookies and browsing history and I'm still not able to watch a video from the Gallery.
Gabe is able to download the videos. I am not able to download the videos.

I'd appreciate it if someone else would give it try and let us know if it works for you.

I have been trying to make this NOT work for me but to no avail. I agree, others should see if they are having any problems.

Go here, click on any video and then Download Movie -

Jimmy's error is unrelated I believe. He just needs to download a player or the one he has doesn't recognize a .wmv file.

Gabe:
Just to let you know,
I'm running IE8 and having no problem with any other site downloading video (ie Youtube, Facebook, Myspace, etc.)
This is what I just got when I clicked your link.

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
     What you can try:
    Diagnose Connection Problems
    More information

If I click on Diagnose the problem, it says "Windows did not find any problem with this computers network connection"

Must be the flu. Did you guys get your shotz? ha ha !

Seriously, I've been having problems today as well, but I think mine are network related; everything's running slow.

I don't know what operating systems Giovanni or his friends have but it's starting to look like it's a a Vista problem. I still can't download on this machine.
After reading your responses, I fired up my old XP machine and everything worked just like supposed to.
Thanks guys, I really appreciate your taking the time to help.

How are the designations such as Chrome-Tributor, Chrome-Meister, MonsterMeister, MasterMeister, Chrome-Minator, etc. determined and 'awarded'?  I have done searches and can not find anything that explains them.  Also, how long are you a Newby?  Thanks.

That info used to be here somewhere. Hmm, must have been deleted over the years. :P

Okay, they actually are post related and here they are again:

Baby Button pusher   15 posts  (which brand new members get with their introduction post)
Chrome-Tributor      100 posts
Chrome-Minator       500 posts
Chrome-Meister     1000 posts
Master-Meister       3000 posts
Monster-Meister     5000 posts

OR jump those silly requirements simply by supporting SlideMeister. Support designations ("HELPER" through "PRESIDENT'S CLUB") can get the goodies without waiting. Check the details here.

Hello
Is there a quick way to select different threads?
At the moment I have to keep returning to the Home screen and starting over.

Yo Jip-Jar!

If you just want to read what's current, just click on "Show unread posts since last visit." just under where it says "Hello jpgr" (at least, that's the way I've done it for the last ten tears) Otherwise, yeah, the Home screen is where to go.

thank you

Another possibility is to go to the home page and then click on General chromatic discussions (I think that's the name of it)...which will open
up a window to a lot of current chromatic threads. Of course it isn't 'everything', but gives you a big head start. I think most of us log on, click on 'go to the forum' and then click on our own 'Show new replies to your posts' to see and respond to any posts which affect us or on which we've previously posted. After that my practice is to go to 'show unread topics since last visit', and then if I still have time I'll do what I suggested above: check out the general chromatic forum, or bantermeister, or individual's posts.

It'll get easier in time.

Thank you.
Some forums you can access sections by clicking the path displayed.

SlideMeister Forums » Information » Startup Info - FAQ's - How To's » Ask questions or report problems

Clicking on any of these would take you to the relative section rather than having to return to the home screen.
