Bobby Darin was a really talented guy. I've always loved his style on this song.
Didn't even try playing it yet. (I think it's over my head at my current stage!)
I did sing along, though. The last couple of modulations took it to out of my range!
Which reminded me of something that happened last Saturday night. The local philharmonic orchestra played a concert for Independence Day weekend. They were set up around home plate at the local Class A stadium. Janet and I had seats slightly down the third base line, but close enough to home plate that they were great seats. They started with the Star Spangled Banner, and asked the audience to sing along. I was lustily doing my part until we hit "...and the rockets' red glare"! I -- along with most of the old farts around me that I could hear -- dropped down an octave until the got to "Oh, say does that ...".
Used to be able to hit all those notes. What happened?
