Hello, BluesGirl747.
Welcome to SlideMeister. You have many new friends here.
"Peg O' My Heart" by Bryan & Fischer (1913), was originally
published by Leo Feist, New York, for piano and voice, in C major.
Later, it was made famous by The Harmonicats harmonica trio (1947),
re-arranged for the trio. In the 1947 arrangement, the first 16 measures
(chord harp featured) are in Gb/F#; and the next 18 measures (chromatic
harp featured) are played in G major, according to Dick Gardner, a member
of the group for 20 years. This is the most difficult of the arrangements listed
here. In the first 16 measures, each melody note has a chord. It's the verbatim
transcript of Harmonicats' chord player Al Fiore.
I've also seen an arrangement by Cham-Ber Huang (2002) in C, 16 measures,
first section; then in G, the next 16 measures. This was a Huang Jazz Harp
(special tuning, 10-hole diatonic blues harp) feature. No accompaniment chords
are provided in this arrangement.
Another arrangement is listed in Bb, and is the Refrain (2nd section) only.
This is a "lead sheet", with melody and simple chords listed. It's not a
chord harp feature. It's melody is played on a slide chromatic harmonica.
I've also seen at least 3 other arrangements in C, for slide chromatic with
chords listed. I have all of the above listed arrangements.
