Not seeing pics

As a newbie I am still feeling my way around this site. I was interested in some posts but where they said see photo below there was nothing there. What am I doing wrong. I have checked lots of posts no pictures.

Most of the older posts lost the pictures when this website crashed late last year.  I think they may have been lost forever but I hope there's a way to have them restored.

Please tell me what disappeared and I'll take a look. As far as I know, the only newer pictures that have "disappeared" are the ones ~I~ delete when folks don't follow the size limit rules.   

CHARTER MEMBERS AND PRESIDENT CLUB members also get their over-sized photos cropped, resized and sharpened, instead of deleted.  (sure, its a shameful trick, but the boss needs the support.  ;D )  I'm considering doing that for everyone north of Helpers as well for the same reason.  :)
