Kenny Colman Days of Wine and Roses
« on: October 02, 2023, 04:14:20 PM »
In his 1994 album called Kenny Colman (duh!), one of the songs he performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra was Days of Wine and Roses. He does a great job on the song, and it has a portion played on chromatic.  My question is:  Who performed the harmonica part?
Here's the link to the song:

Wonderful song Doug, thanks for posting.

There's just something about Toots' playing -  apart from his musical artistry of making all the black dots everything sound totally effortless, his phrasing &  expression and what I can only describe as a sort of sighs in his playing are so special.

I agree Laina!  Toot’s phrasing on the chromatic is akin to Sinatra’s vocal phrasing. Effortlessly unique.

Yeah, Toots played like he was just breathing. Totally effortless. He probably snored prettier than I'll ever play. :-[
