Dear SlideMeisters, it is with much sadness that I announce the passing of my childhood harmonica mentor, "semi dad" and lifelong friend, Herb Eck has passed away at the age of 82.
Herb was past president of the Steel Valley Harmonica Club, and past V. P. Of SPAH. Throughout the many years, Herb and I played in trios together in many different configurations of lead players usually with Herb playing bass and me playing chord. Most notably was the late Jack Allison, the late Teddy Seydlorsky, and Frank Fordeley.
Herb and I travelled to SPAH conventions together for several years, and always enjoyed our time together and our common passion for the harmonica.
