New Project for 2021
« on: March 23, 2021, 09:35:48 AM »
My wife has a green thumb, so when my uncle passed away we decided to put it to work and bought his greenhouse.
We're going to have to disassemble it and move it but first we have to prepare a place for it..
Work started at 8 AM today.
It measures  24 feet by 50 feet.

It's not going to be in this exact spot but this is sort of what it's going to look like when complete.

Maybe but I don't think so. We have a pretty good start this morning and here it is 1 1/2  hours later
We'll be installing gas for the furnace, electric and water. I have to call the phone and gas companies to come out and flag the underground gas and phone lines before digging on the other side of the driveway.

Between you and Bruce, you’ve got a real compound going.
Time to start a harmonica cult and threaten the world.
Maybe by the 4th of July party, world domination!

Bruce has had people working over there all winter while he's in Florida playing harmonica and working on his tan.

I'm hosting 2 weddings out in the party barn before this years Harmonica Protestival My grandson and one of Linette's nieces (not to each other). So a big part of the getting ready process has to be done early this year.

I don't know about cults and world domination but we've been kicking the idea of bringing the former Steel Valley Harmonica Club back to life.

I never would have guessed how much work would be involved in being retired

I can't, for the life of me, figure out how I ever got anything done before I retired! (and I'll bet most of you old farts can't figure it out either)   ;D ;D ;D

Maybe just our metabolisms are slowing down. For example, a week now goes by in 3.062 days, naps (for the first time in my life since I was two) happen outta nowhere and feel pretty good, while both hurt; getting getting down on the floor is sixty times easier than getting back up, and a whole buncha other old fart examples. :)

Yeah, the floor seems to be farther away these days, & when I do get down on my knees, I have to think about how to get back up.... :D

Bruce and I have decided that since there are no other harmonica events this Spring, we're going to add another harmonica protestival to this years agenda.

We have a few acres for camping, a few RV electric hookups and several inexpensive hotels/motels nearby.
If y'all can get up off the floor for a couple of days you're invited  April 29 - May 1.

My wife doth protest too much, methinks.
Have fun without me.

Late last summer my wife and I threw out our old, worn out beach chairs.  You know ... the folding kind with a fabric seat that is six inches off the sand.  When we went up to the big box to get replacements, Janet asked what style I wanted.  I told her my first criteria was ... it had to be at LEAST 15" off the sand!  The first sign of old farts at the beach ;)

It had become embarrassing to roll out of the chair on my knees, then hope the chair didn't tip over when I pushed on the arm to help myself stand.  The new ones are fine ... for a few years!

Danny, that’s great news.  I added your event to my calendar so my trips away will not interfere.  Alaska and Utah can just wait!  LOL

Then again, the acoustics from my wife might not be all that pleasant if harmonicas invaded what she's dubbed her "Girl Cave"
We'll just keep the acoustics out in the party barns for now.
