Monster harmonica
« on: February 03, 2023, 09:04:32 AM »
Hey Sir Danny....you just don't know how glad I was tah see ya!!!  I am also curious about that monster harmonica that you had and why seemingly not alot of performers seem to use them.  There has to be an obvious use for them or the company that makes them wouldn't have made them.  I was impressed and it certainly looks like something worth collecting.  I'll call ya.  I loved seeing ya at home relaxing in your cozy environment.  Now the only future project that I have on my mind is getting up there to your party!!!  Baltimore is big on diatonics and I almost NEVER see a chromatic artist...except when I get with Carl or run into "Root Boy".  Wow you guys stayed on til 9?   Whew!

Pretty sure it was 9:15 bro! Which was just about lunch time for Mr. Farmer, but for poor little Ela, it was 5:15 AM! ::))

Zoom has become a viable replacement for the old "corner drugstore", "neighborhood diner", and the Main St. Esso station!  These were places where folks just hung out for hours and "chatted".
My late dad was a farmer.  After he retired, he'd hang out in the small nearby town at "Everett's Auto Repair".  I was lucky enough to accompany him a few times.  It was an amazing place!  (Pictures below!  Some of you will relate!)
Zoom is a good think, IMHO!

Suzuki has models AS37 Alto and AS37 Soprano which are absolutely beautiful but they're around $400 US.
I have a Suzuki AS37 I got from Gary.
At the end of NAMM convention and Spah conventions I usually buy all of the stock that Easttop brings but didn't sell.
Shipping to and from China is out of this world expensive so I get a pretty good deal and they don't have to load it all up after the show. So that's how I came across getting their version of the AS37. Having both my opinion is that the  Suzuki AS37  is art work where Easttop is not pretty but it sounds so much better. I had these collecting dust out in the party barn for a few years.
I displayed then at festivals but never had anybody give them a look. One day I said to myself, if I can't sell them I'll just keep them. Anyway, when I see you in July you can try mine and if you want one I'll order it for you.

I don’t see the usual dill pickle barrel nor spit tune but otherwise pretty typical In my memories.

Ha!  The third photo has the stove in it.  Not a "pot belly", but just a wood box!  There was always a pot of coffee on ... sometimes a pot sitting on the stove to stay hot.  The cabinet where he kept the coffee, creamer, etc. had a sign that said, "If you open me, close me!"
