The Scales for Chromatic Harmonica (SCH) web page is available absolutely FREE for your use at:  https://bvuvcjtgedn3mzucere3jg-on.drv.tw/scales/ .




SCH is like a set of flash cards from years ago but adds the sound of the note and how to locate it's proper hole on a c-tuned chromatic harmonica.

Chromatic, major, and minor scales are provided.  These scales can be made to go: Up, Down, Up / Down, Down / Up, or Random orders.  Looping multiple times on a scale is available as is limiting the note range and the note step interval.  Note duration of up to 4 seconds and a volume control are provided.
*** Parameter selection must be made before clicking OK/LOOP as the parameters are not interactive.***

The sound provided is from midi synthesis and is not the best quality (personal evaluation) and I'm not able to play my 16 hole chromatic sufficiently well (especially inhaling) to generate a 4 second recording at each of the note positions.

The web page is usable on Win, MAC, Linux, Android, iPhone, iPad.....  In most cases, landscape view will be the preferred viewing direction.  On small screens in portrait view < 1080 px in width, landscape is a must.  Probably won't work on AGE's crank CELL phone!!  The one from the CELL blocks in the old Cleveland PD building.

Future plans are limited.

• Attempt to replace the sound files with ones created by an actual harmonica.  I need someone's help in creating these.
  
• Add additional octave C2-B2 for bass chromatic.  I need someone's help in creating these as midi is limited to C3-D7.
  
• Make changes if bugs are found.

What are the problems?  Can I address them?  I can't help with CELL phones.

Can't pause it or stop it or modify speed, etc., after it starts. If you do, it plays two versions at the same time.

I've been working on a PAUSE feature for some time with not much success  and no one else had commented about wanting it.  Let's see what I can do now that you brought it up.  You can STOP, change parameter, and then run again.  When you stop, the parameters are not reset.  PAUSE will be useful.

Any other comments?

I feel the need for real harmonica sound is a major need.  Do you agree?

GR8!!  You'll be able to read notes in no time.  This makes my effort worth it.

BUT there will not be a PAUSE as I don't have the desire to learn how to make things interactive on web pages.  It will be better if I practice my 16 hole and find other ideas to help people learn more.  I've added a note in the HELP file.  This isn't a video game anyway.

Also fixed so that you can't have multiple sessions running at the same time.

I have to sync the movement with the notes on the bottom display as MuseScore doesn't print the notes evenly spaced.  I'll fix soon.

I have not changed the program to be interactive and don't plan on doing so as I stated before in this thread.  I will spend my time adding content rather than make it like a game.  I added the new display so that the user can see where they are in the overall range of the chromatic

You can use the refresh in your browser to start it over again if you want.

Syncing of scale is fixed.  Also had bad upload to website and that is square.

I think that the tool is done from a development standpoint so I'm going to finish up the HELP file and go back to practicing on the 16 holer using this tool.  I hope I can get through my thick head where the notes reside on the device.

Please all, help me with trying to explain your usage of the tool to share with others.  I'll try to put whatever you share in the HELP.

Unfortunately I can't give you any feedback, as your program didn't run for me on Windows Vista - but that is a common problem that I keep running into these days. Way past time that I got a new pc.

Never had Vista and don't know if there is a workaround or not.

The program also runs on cell phones and tablets.  Probably limited to landscape on them.

I can add jazz and/or blues scales too.  I just need a consensus on usability so that I'm not wasting my time.  Any other content that you would recommend.

This isn't an ever going project because my ever is not very long.

For those that haven't looked, these are the present included scales:  Chromatic, and key signature - A_Major, B_Major, C_Major, D_Major, E_Major, F_Major, G_Major, Ab_Major, Bb_Major, C#_Major, Db_Major, Eb_Major, F#_Major, and Gb_Major.

With Chrome, try a forced refresh  CTRL-F5.  Brave should have something like that also.  Works on Chrome and Edge on PC and Android.  Waiting  for Safari tests but they are away right now.
