I like to hear a good banjo player.

I don't know why, I don't know if it is even music
but I just like it, If I were exposed to it as a youngster
I would probably have taken lessons and be a famous
bluegrasser by now.

I bring this up as I am listening to a PBS telethon
featuring folk singers with the Smothers Brothers
as one of the hosts.

It really takes me back.

The other side of that coin is Bela Fleck playing classical music on banjo on his recording, "Perpetual Motion."

Mike Seeger isn't too shabby either, on old-time stuff.

First decent banjo music I ever heard was Iron Horse's "Fade to bluegrass: the bluegrass tribute to Metallica". I thought I was in for a laugh, but the record ended up in my car audio's permanent collection; it's that good.
